Let me say this slowly for you.

My 2006 and my 2012 climate controls are exactly the same except that when you turn the temp dial on the 2012 to the cold air setting it turns the a/c on.

So after driving my 2006 for 5 1/2 years before trading in for the 2012 it is second nature on how I use the controls. So that means I am always turning on the a/c. lame.

And as you said you are a moron.

Dang, no one agrees with everyone on the interwebs 100% of the time, especially when whippersnapper02 is involved. No need to "christen" Him a MORON.

It's a frickin' notch...one...adjust; or just ride with the windows down...you won't tell a difference...

I think maybe UTARD is keeping his eyes on the road and not looking at the temp dial. After you have had your truck awhile you can feel the slightly heavier detent before you go to max ac but when it is new it is easy to go that extra notch if you are not looking at it.Like anything new,we have to adapt to it.

I am an eyes on road driver. I am sure after a few more times I will get used to it.

I was thinking however if Toyota did this on purpose? You know you are suppose to use and a/c every so often to keep the system lubed? Well if you live in an area that you do not ever use the defrost (that activates the a/c pump to circulate the oil). Kind of like what I read in the manual that I did not know that you should put the truck in 4WD high at least once a month for 10 miles to keep all the bearings lubed in the front end.
