I'm looking at getting a 4x4 Double Cab Tacoma and I have read a lot on here about the 05 plus year range. I like the A-Trac option that comes on the OR model so that puts me in the 09 plus year range. I also would like to have a long bed but that doesn't come in the OR Double Cab model so at this time I will have to make a sacrifice...long bed or A-Trac.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of information about the 2012 models yet but speculation seems to be a change is on the way. With a forum this size I wonder if anybody here might be able to answer my question.

    1) What is the chance A-Trac is offered on other models beside the OR model in 2012?

    2) If A-Trac is only on the OR model is there a chance the Double Cab OR model will be offered with a long bed in 2012?

Toyota made big changes in Model/engine/transmission combo offering for the 2011 model year, so if there is no new model you can just hope they are in for another year of big changes which is unlikely.

They deleted a few model and added new ones.

Example: 4X4 4cyl automatic, 4cyl automatic double cab... which didn't exist before

From http://iguida.com/2011-toyota-tacoma: "For 2011, Toyota adds five new Tacoma configurations, starting with a 4wd regular-cab with automatic transmission. It expands the Access Cab roster to include 2wd and 4wd four-cylinder, automatic transmission models. And it stretches the Double Cab line to include PreRunner and non-PreRunner versions with 2wd, the four-cylinder, and automatic-transmission."

AND LOL look what I've found on this page: "Should you buy a 2011 Toyota Tacoma or wait for the 2012 Toyota Tacoma? Buy the 2011 Toyota Tacoma. Its freshened styling and equipment upgrades will carry this eighth-generation version through model-year 2013 and the conclusion of this design generation. No major additional changes are expected before the all-new Tacoma bows as a 2014 model.
