the only way to do this right, drain pan of the mix, fill with toyota ws, and push out 2 quarts at a time through trans cooler lines (re filling pan with 2 quarts of ws each time) till you have gone through at least 12 quarts of fluid... this way there is no mixing of the old crap/bulk shit/new toyota ws via pan drain and fills only. Personally id be doing probably 16 quarts total using the push method so 4 extra quarts got flushed out to pull any crap out. Then about 5k miles down the road drain the pan and fill with another 3-4 quarts.

Also, The shop would be paying for a full refund as well as signing a statement stating that they messed up and are liable for any future problems with the trans due to their fuck up (they should of known better than to use bulk atf).

I know not everyone has the option….but that’s why it’s so much better if you do stuff yourself. You know what is going on. What’s wrong and broken. And what goes into the car.

I agree that’s the only fix I would settle for.

While I personally agree with you 100%, the reality is, not every one can do things like this. There are lots of reasons.....some don't know how to, some lack the tools, some lack the space, some lack the time, some may have physical limitations that prevent them, be it age, injury or disability and still other just simply don't want to climb under a vehicle and do it. All of these are just fine. Everyone has their wheelhouse
