Bought a bug deflector/hood protector for my '12 DCSB. I need to re-buy the protective strips that it came with, but can't seem to find them anywhere.

Looked online and nothing. In the instructions they are label as Protective tape, thick (Mylar).

Any ideas where I could find these strips.

Not sure which one you bought...but my Avis for the '12+ Taco came with those strips. I used them...but honestly they really aren't needed as the shield never actually touches the hood.

That said...you could probably cut up a clear bra/hood protector if you needed to.

I bought the Toyota OEM one. I will need those strips because the brackets that the bug deflector uses sit on the edge of the hood.

Or at least something similar that will protect the hood paint.

You're right....I think you do need them with the OEM one. I suggest the 3M stuff.
