That's a big pile of crap! You can take it to any Toyota dealership you want. Definitely stay away from that dealership, and the next one you go to, bring a copy of the clutch TSB. There is a link to it in this thread. Good luck and keep us posted!
I see you are in Duvall, WA. It is a drive, but Titus Will Toyota in Tacoma is very familiar with the TSB. James Dean in the service dept was the guy I dealt with. No questions asked, they replaced the clutch under the TSB.

Has anyone noticed that their clutch stopped squeaking when it's cold? Or is it only me?

Had my luk clutch replaced at 35k, now at 80k my clutch is slipping again, different symptoms and smells this time, but the pos is fawked either way. Two clutches on one truck is total bs. The love hate relationship with this truck is going more down the hate path...

Fight your dealers for this slipping bs, there is no excuse for this to still be happening to ppl.

Wow. More clutch problems. Check out some of the other forums on this topic. I still think we need to make a master list of all who have had problems, those that were repaired and those not fixed. Then take the list to Toyota or "go public". This is discouraging and not good for Toyota's image.

Regarding the pedal squeek....a service bulletin came out a few years ago via snail mail. The dealer fixed it free of charge. They should do your too. The number was TC004-06. If you want a copy and a set of the drawings showing just how to repair it i can send them to you via snail mail. Place your address in my site.
The slipping clutch Service Bulletin is T-SB-035-09.

Hey Guys. My 2014 Taco is spending the weekend and then some at the local toyota dealership for the famous "creaking/squeaking" clutch problem. The pedal feel is completely unpredictable and its basically shit. I have no confidence in it at all. This is the second trip to the dealer (the first was at a different dealer) for this issue. I am saving all documentation and I am speaking with a representative at 1-800-lemonlaw. I only have 5000 miles on my taco and I know how to drive a manual. Ive been driving manuals since I was 15. I am very surprised toyota uses shit parts on these trucks. I have no confidence in toyota and I want out of this truck. I don't want to be replacing clutches every 10000 miles and paying for them as well.

Man! The clutch problems just keep on coming. For the last time-I think we need to band together with some kind of long list of owners, vin. numbers and complaints and get it to Toyota to demand they recognize nationally the problem and guarantee a fix for everyone. Any guys willing to create such a list or push for articles in newspapers or threaten articles in truck magazines or ??

I don't know whats up with everybody's clutch but I got a '13 6speed 4x4 with 22000 on the odo and I have not expirenced anything you guys have said here my clutch feels the same way it did when I picked her up with 8 miles on the odo ! As a mech I have replaced a bunch of clutches and the number one cause to premature failure is driver not operating the vechicle properly I,E riding the clutch, holding in the clutch at a stoplight(causes tob premature wear) clutch dumps, rabbit starts(flooring it from a stop). Plus a bunch of other stuff and just because you have been driving manuals forever doesn't mean your doing it right. I am sorry for all yalls troubles but something ain't right here and it ain't just crappy clutches.

This^ add in resting on the clutch pedal to prematurely wear out the T/O bearing as well.
While 35k is before nominal wear and tear for a clutch, 80k is well beyond. 60k is the average life expectancy for most stock clutches. I replaced mine at 120k, never had slips, road it a bit hard in the beginning while getting used to the 1st to 2nd shift timing.
220k on a stock clutch, that is extremely impressive.

The issue is with 5-speeds, not 6-speeds. My five speed is fine and another member has 40,000 with no issues, but there are some that are crap. Toyota uses clutches from two different manufacturers and one is crap that's why there was a TSB. The new ones have the same issues , but Toyota hasn't updated the TSB for the newer trucks.

Never had an issue with mine, other then the T/O bearing being cheap. Guess I lucked out, would love a stiffer pressure plate.

Mines a five speed problem with clutch chatter from the start. When it sat for two days and rained it would slip for the first 10 miles of stop and go traffic. As far as not knowing how to drive a manual i drive a comm truck for a living with over a million miles in my log book dont think the problem is driver error sorry to say

At 67K my clutch is functioning fine. Oh, it has had a few idiosyncrasies over almost 6 years of use. In real cold weather the TOB will chat with me, and after sitting in the rain all day it will sometimes chatter a bit on the first one or two take-offs from a dead stop. But never anything worse. Early in its life on a couple of high angle starts, while learning to take off smoothly, I could smell a bit of clutch lining, but its been at least 4 years since that has happened. If you have a Luk clutch you are more likely to have issues, in what I have determined in reading post for several years. The Aisin(?) seems to be more reliable.

This whole clutch issue is nuts! I am going to write to Toyota of America and, among other things, point out this website and all of the complaints. It is time we demand Toyota to come clean and out in the open, admit the problem, and provide a free and a GOOD fix. I will post the letter and encourage everyone to write or at least email or at the VERY least copy your posting in an email to them.
We need to demand action. Anyone agree????
