Do you have the TSB number for the 2012s? My dealer said it only goes up to 2011. Also were you charged labor? Thanks

I completed my letter and list and sent it to Toyota several weeks ago. No response yet. Maybe it would help guys with less cooperative dealers to xerox posts of those who had good responses from their dealers.

Is the T-SB-0186-12 for the 05-12 tacoma clutch squeak really limited to the 6 speed only? Because the link below lists the 2TR-FE engine which only comes with a 5-speed. If anyone has access to the toyota TSB repair site, can you please post a .pdf of the official tsb document? Thanks

Yep, I had mine go out at 20k miles, replaced by the dealer under warranty and back in the shop again today at 31k miles. When I mentioned this thread they looked at me like I was crazy. WTF Toyota? I guess since it's not a safety issue there won't be a recall...

My Tacoma has been squeaking for the past few weeks and I am taking it in to the Dealership to have them take a look at it as well as the brake recall. I am still under warranty. I have less than 18000 mi on my truck. has the squeaking subsided in the warmer parts of the day for you all? It seems like in the morning when it's cooler I'm getting it, but by the afternoon I can't get it to produce the same sound.

    *EDIT*

Today I took my truck into my local dealership and had them fix the recall on the brake actuator and take a look at the TSB for the squeaky clutch. They are going to replace the clutch and it will be covered under the warranty. They had to order the part so wont be done till next week, but was surprised at how easy this whole process was. From reading with some of the other hassles that has befell fellow members.

2009 with 50k miles on it. clutch is still good with no slipping. i guess i got lucky???

my 1988 toyota truck i drove 300k miles on stock clutch and never changed it. still worked perfectly when i sold the truck. the clutch master cylinder on the other hand would go out every 50k miles. brake master cylinder went out every 100k miles. :D

I have a '13 4cyl, 4x4 that was mfgr in 12/12. Truck has 8200 miles on it. Have noticed the last week, when leaving in the am for work up a slight incline, rear end seems like hops, but its pavement no gravel to spin on so I suspect my clutch might be one of the weaker ones used. I also notice the clutch pedal issue, squeaks when hot outside, and has uneven feeling while depressing the last inch-inch and half in or letting out that same distance. One other thing, have also noticed when coming to stop, if I put clutch in say at 15 mph or less, sometimes I get a clunking noise when the drive train disengages.
Man I bought this truck brand new with 2 miles on it, knowing how bullet proof the previous models had been, and now find this thread and am like what the hell toyota? Guess time to contact dealer and start the process....

With all these reoccurring problems even after having them fixed by Toyota. Has anyone found a solid replacement aftermarket clutch that would be beneficial to look in to?

I've had 2 different clutches. First was Centerforce dual friction clutch. Very streetable, pedal is about as stiff as stock, it grabs good but you can ride it some and it did great with stock gears and 33s. Then I went to 35s and 4.88s and basically destroyed it in one weekend of wheeling. So I got the LCE dual comp clutch and it's awesome. Holds the power much much better. Pedal is a lil stiffer but easy to drive, it grabs a lot harder then stock though. It's very hard to slip it, even off-road. I recommend both of them. Centerforce is more streetable but won't hold the power of gears and big tires. The LCE is quite a bit more aggressive but still easy to drive on the street and holds the extra power and big tires very well

Talked to local dealer today, requesting diagnosis for clutch shudder/slip and clunk when disengaging when pedal is depressed.
Told me flat out without heistation, that is not a warranty part, its a normal wear part not covered under warranty, as such I would be responsible for diagnosis cost, and any repair costs associated with a clutch slipping. Mentioned the TSB for bad pressure plates, and again without hesitation told me that was not for my year..Didnt ask my vin number, anything just flat out said no. Problem is only toyota dealer/servicer for my within 3 hours drive in any direction...Almost traded it in last weekend, looking like that may go ahead and happen now. Really dont want to fight with this dealer about warranty work, already had bad experience over last warranty work I tried to have done there. With it being a 2013, with 8K miles on it, shouldnt have to have any of this shit done, and if it is needed, sure the hell should be covered under warranty.

Anybody know if TSB 0066-11 has been revised to cover more/higher vin numbers?
In the TSB it states only vin numbers 15170 and before are covered(last 5 of vin) and my vin is 15320 just a slight over the TSB, but is experiencing the same issues as described in the bulletin. My local toyota service always will do what he can it appears to get out of warranty, and if possible like to have info in hands to back me up. thanks

You probably just got a bad stock. I have '12 regcab 5 speed manual at 14k miles and no problems at all
