2012 coolant reservoir dry-rot corrosion

    This weekend changing my air filter I noticed this. Has anyone have the same problem. The plastic cap on the reservoir drain has turned chalky and breaking up.

    That is just seepage from the upper hose connection. Clean it and install a small hose clamp.

    FIX

    1) don't look at it

    or

    2) remove, clean, lube, connect with hose clamp

    Same here; same crusty stuff; the overflow hose doesn't fit tightly and seeps around the plastic connector. I have a small clamp i'll use when i get to digging it out of my shop

    Normal since Toyota is too cheap to add a 5 cent hose clamp made from Bangladesh.
