My,5year old, dash cam just died.
The Florida heat did it in.
Any recommends on a new dash cam?
    I am looking at a VIO A119V3 1440 GPS and a RED Tiger F7NS4k.
Has anyone wired the dash cam directly to the truck fuse box.
My last cam was wired with USB to the lighter.
Also the better cams have a rear cam option.
There must be a video, hopefully for a 2012 Taco, on how to run the wiring from the front unit to the rear cam unit.
I was saved by a YouTube video when I installed my 2meter radio.
Should I install the rear cam on the window directly behind the drive and not on the sliding center window?
    thanks

I use Thinkware cameras in all my vehicles, using front and rear cameras. I mounted the rear camera on the non-moving window behind the driver's seat. Visibility is fine.
All my cameras are hardwired directly into a fuse box. I like Thinkware for their parking modes and their reliability with me. They're my preference, but I know there are other great brands out there. Just depends on your budget and preferences.
I just recently upgraded to 4K from 1080 on my Tacoma. I'd recommend anything 2K and up for better chances at seeing license plates.
