So I was given all the take off suspension from a friend of a friend who has a 2015 (I believe).

The rear leaf packs that he gave me has 4 leaves (3 regular and the one load leaf at the bottom) my 2012 only has 3 leaves (2 regular and one load leaf)

My 2012 feels like it hits the bump stops when I'm loaded up for camping with gear and on a rougher dirt road in the rear. Since I am replacing the tires soon with something a little bigger and thinking of options to match the Bilstein 6112's I plan on putting in the front, anyone know if those 4 pack springs would add some height and weight carrying capability to my 2012 instead of just doing an AAL? Got any other ideas? Maybe taking apart the extra leaf pack I have and adding one of those springs to my 12 pack?

The 2+1 leave are known to actually have leaves break over time, there is a TSB on this. The 3 + 1 leaves are definitely better, but it won't be a huge difference. I'd suggest putting a 3 leaf progressive AAL on the new 3+1 pack, and definitely dumping your 2012 2+1 pack entirely. That is what I am running on my 6112s and 5165s (TRD Baja same shocks, different valving). The combo will be a night and day difference over your 2+1 pack.

Awesome, thanks for the link! I dig the write up. Pretty much every issue you have explains the way I use my truck too. I can't believe how much this thing sags with just a person in the back. So that Icon aal added 1.5" to the back when you removed the heavy duty leaf huh? The nice thing about this is I can build my leaf pack and the front coilover outside the truck, then just spend a day swapping the parts out. My wife is going to love the pricetag though....

Yes, 1.5" added without the overload. If you do any heavy hauling I'd leave the overload in (I don't). The 3 leaf progressive AAL is the same regardless of the brand name on it, so look where you can find the best price. Several vendors sell them: Wheelers/Toytec/Headstrong/Icon.
