2012 DRL/Tow harness questions

Hi all, First BIG THANKS for all the informative posts over the years. I have read the 05+ DRL Install OEM, did the mod (with success) on my (now sold) '06. Now looking to do the same on my 2012 Base 4x4. Saw the thread on the updated relay and flasher numbers, wondering if I can add the hitch harness connector at the same time. So what I surmised is part numbers 82241-04060 and 81980-04050 for trucks with the tow package, and 82241-04050/81940-04040 without. First question, can I do the without option and use the same DIY instructions/illustrations used on the '05-'11 install post? Or could I instead use the with tow package parts and gain the harness connection I need? The dealer sites say part numbers 82241-04060 and 81980-04050 are not compatible with my rig.
