Heyoo everyone. SO i did a current ramp test on my pump, and its bad. I can get a pic of the graph tomorrow if you wanna see it.
My question is this. My truck is a 2012 with 32,000 kms on it. Should i take it in for warranty or do it my self?

Bare in mind I have a hoist and all tools needed and lots of experience. If i was to do it ill pull the box off to access the pump, and clean and paint the frame at the same time.

Should I throw in the URD pump kit? If i throw in a upgraded pump will that mess with anything else?

    Let the dealer do it

I know it's easy, just did it last night and only took a hour...but still let them do it

If the tank is full it might be easier to remove the box. Im going to be doing it that way if its the route i take. I am leaning on the aem 320 lph pump kit from urd unless some more people chime in.

if the dealer is 2 hrs away one way... not worth your time n gas money... you can get it done in 2 hours real easy yourself.

    get something from URD.

also, the DCSB you cant access the pump by removing the bed.... now if you had an AC or DCLB you should be good.... literally the pump is 8in under the cab on the DCSB

Well, dont quote me on the DCLB.... not sure if the tank would be located further back in the truck or not. Id imagine it would. Be real easy to look underneath n see where the tank ends.

But pulling the bed off is stupid easy, we had my buddies off for some suspension work in like 20 min.

I'm having a hard time following this. I thought the fuel pumps were in the gas tank? Obviously I'm missing something. Thanks.

They are but the pump access is on the top of the tank, so you can either pull the tank down, or take the box off. From experience, pulling the box is waaay faster. Plus as stated ill paint my frame.

Also btw, the DCLB the pump is under the box the the cab, so it is doable.

Changed my Fuel pump with the Urd pump kit today.
Pulled the box off, painted the frame and installed rubber between the box and the frame.

Here is the new fuel pump ramp test
    [IMG]

Old one is 2 or 3 posts above. Muuuuch better AND my ticking/pinging under load, I dont need to run 91 anymore to make it stop. So glad for that.
There was nothing in the tank as far as dirt and debris goes but the internal fuel filter(worst design ever) was plugged, I cut the filter out of the pump assembly and when you squeeze it black shit came out.
