Thanks, Chris! I went ahead and painted the radiator black while I was at it.

Definitely worth painting the radiator. Makes a big difference in how it looks.

After much thought, I might hold off on this setup. I feel up in Minnesota this will just act like a massive bug net during the wet months. Still will look at pics tho!

I kinda improvised a little on mine...

I couldn't get the mesh to line up right by only sandwiching the top border between the surround and the grille. Sooo I sandwiched the sides too. The mesh has to be bent back forward around the side edges to get it to work. Some of the paint got scratched off on the back but from the front you can't even tell.

I am now in the waiting stage for the goop to dry. If you have access to any type of syringe it make applying the goop 10x easier. The goop is too thick to pull through a needle but if you fill the syringe up from the top, then the hole at the bottom is just big enough to squeeze a steady stream of goop through and apply more accurately.

Nice job. I think I had some trouble fitting it along the edges also. Good idea with the syringe. Looks good!

Thanks. I was a little worried when I started bending the mesh, but I think it turned out pretty good. I'll post more pictures after I get it finished and get the letters on.

Great write up! Just got my grill yesterday. Going to take the lights off and do the bhlm and paint my chrome grill and do the insert this weekend. I've been bouncing a few emblems around as well. I do like that old school one. If it was painted TRD colors would look pretty good I think.

Moondeath I appreciate your writing this up. It made me pull the trigger on mine!

Along with the radiator I also painted the sides of each of the headlight housing as I felt it eliminated any white see-through from side angles.

IVE GOT THE SAME SETUP READY TO INSTALL, DID YOU USE 3M TAPE TO ATTACH YOUR LETTERS OR THE AUTO GOOP?

I used the goop. I applied a small about to place them and move them where I wanted. Then I flipped it over and had the letters supported by a couple pieces of wood, but be careful not to let the letters move. Then apply more goop through the mesh.
