I believe the recirculation button is acting up. Every car or truck I've owned in the past when you select air recirculation function it would remained in that state. I do realize that when you select defog it kicks out recirculation. Mine will after a 3-5 minutes will switch to "fresh" air on it's own and some days it stays in recirculate even after cycling the key. I had the dealer look at it "it's operating normally" I say BS. Anyone else experience this problem? One of three things are about to happen
1 I contact Toyota Southeast and explain the problem and want it repaired.
    2 I install a control switch
3 I trade in and go back to VW where I've received no question ask,no smoke blown up the pooper service.

I guess I'm not surprised the dealer didn't advise the op of this. Rather then... It's working normally

OP, is it that big of a thing, you would get rid of the truck? Seems alittle drastic to me.

    No...

But new owners can't be bothered to read anything.

If they put the owner's manual in an app format, we wouldn't have a need for half the forum.

Might want to hold off on that for a couple of years, then look back and realize that the difference is that Toyota service doesn't matter because you never have to take it back to the dealership.

That's actually not a bad idea, I wonder why car companies haven't done something like that. That would be nice, I think. Easy to look stuff up real quick. I read my owners manual cover to cover, when I got my truck.

I've owned 5 Toyotas and had a Toyota company car.

Sum total of dealer trips = 4 including a recall (plus an indy shop for a clutch):

'94 Pickup, warped exhaust manifold... needed a clutch at 180k. Put 225k on it.
'00 Echo, went in once for a recall. Wife put 130k on it, gave it to daughter, she put a good 60k on it and totaled it.
'03 Tundra, did the timing belt myself at 100k... it never went in for any kind of service. Traded at around 130k.
'04 Rav4, infantile failure of ECU (less than a month old), 30k lost an O2 sensor. 125k on it now.
'08 4-Runner, never in for service, my old company still has it (bought out the lease) and uses it for a shop truck. I put 30k on it before I got laid off.
'08 Taco, never been in the shop. Bought Dec '11 with 53k on it, have 83k on it now.

I've known enough people who own VWs to know I'll never own one.
Don't think any combination of 6 VW's could make it to over 700k with only 4 trips for non-routine maintenance type work.

I owned a VW TDI loved it drove it 220K nice comfortable car 50 MPG plenty of pep and with out a doubt the most expensive car I have ever owned to maintain. There is not enough room here to list what I had to replace/repair in 220K.

Perhaps it's because they can't read? My neighbor's kids (ages 9 and 11) can't read for crap. Plus, they don't comprehend what they do read. Both are bright kids, but they can't be bothered to read anything. But, they can both play video games like crazy.

Is this what we're coming to?
