I hope UW beats LSU. I don't see the score being even remotely close, but I can still wish right? Oregon only has Fresno State... Or as it used to be called Thug State U.

I hate both teams with equal passion, but I have to go with the PAC-12. Yes, I would put money on LSU but like I said I can still wish.

Beat Oregon, then watched the fans hit an elderly woman. Also saw them beat up some hippy because they thought he was an Oregon fan (but was really just a fucked up texas hippy).

I had respect for the guys I hung out with at a few tailgates. But I would say 35% of the fan base I met that night I would rather never see again. I even had some people try to push my (then) fiancee off the bus when it pulled up. I thought UW fans were bad. In HS I had dog shit thrown at me by one of them. Then again, Oregon/Washington is a pretty vicious rivalry.

Every fanbase has a group like this. Hate to say it but people are people, no matter where you are.

Yes, but in a neutral location game (LSU home field really) with 2 teams who will never play each other again you would think it would be a bit more normal. But that is just me who doesn't get to go to many games. KU and KSU just don't interest me.

I understand, and I assume that it's the same way with Washington fans, the ones that cause all the trouble didn't go to the university or college at all. They ought a T-Shirt and a 6-pack at the store and became a fan. When you go to a game on campus, at least at LSU. Everyone seems to have a mutual respect for one another. I have friends that go to other schools and whenever we play they always come by the tailgate and hang out.

It's sad to know that the actions of few reflect on the masses

Congrats on the W, Swamppirate.

The uniforms were interesting and GT looked like they are back to the old tricks of beating themselves. Anyway, I'm still proud to be a Yellow Jacket.

    neglect, mostly.
here in NC there are probably a million UNC fans, and about 20 alumni. we all call them "walmart fans" because they just buy a bunch of UNC apparel at walmart and are usually the biggest assholes. now UNC alums (take my father for example) are usually ones you can have an honest sports conversation with where both parties respect each other.

a running joke here is "what does a UNC fan and a (North Carolina) State fan have in common? ... neither one of them went to UNC" haha.

and im by no means saying that someone has to be an alum to cheer for a team. not at all. but i get so tired of hearing endless smack talk and hate from people who have never even been to a game, much less the campus of the team they cheer for. my favorite thing to do is say "ok, name 5 players and one assistant coach" for whatever sport from the school they are "fans" of. that usually shuts them up.

I agree with the first one, I hate the bandwagoners at my high school who wear Purple and Gold one week, Crimson the next, and then an Arkansas shirt after that. But the second one I don't necessarily agree with. My dad grew up a Bama without ever having been to Tuscaloosa or a game. He watched the Bear and his teams every Saturday with his father for years. It wasn't til my sister decided to go to Bama (without my dad even hinting that he would like for her to go there) that my dad got to to Bryant-Denny for a game. You don't have to go to the games to be a fan.

And to add on to that, I've never been to a Mississippi State game, but I've been to Starkville several times.

LSU just emailed me asking me to visit and apply, not sure if I should apply just in case they give me more of a scholarship than MSU :anonymous:

aah come on, you know what i meant when i wrote that. no you don't have to have season tickets to be a fan. i was more so targeting the douchebags who like to stir up shit with opposing teams' fans when they know no more about "their" team than the $8 t-shirt their wearing.

you're in high school im guessing? . . . yeah, LSU sent me emails too, but out-of-state tuition is higher than camel cock. id be wanting A LOT of scholarships.

I thought I knew what you meant, thus my statement. And yes, I am a high school senior. The youngest one in the thread :woot:
