jbmccul, I don't think yall are going to miss the honey boy any - sure he was an excellent ball hawk and returner (well, along with a few questionable blocks in the back that weren't called...), but as a corner he was schooled on a number of occasions... You think yall have a suitable replacement?

 

Do I think we have someone who can play the position well, yes. Do I think we have someone who can change the tone of the game and the crowd like Mathieu did, no. It'll be interesting to see, if all goes well this season, how long people still talk about him. From what I've heard out of Baton Rouge, I go back today, it seems like Mathieu wants to stay in school there and try to rejoin the team in a year. However, according to team policy, the failure of three drug tests results in automatic and permanent suspension from the team

 

I read that too but we won't be allowed back on the team. Heard that he will be announcing this week where he will be transferring to...he can go to ala state with our loser...

Haha, yeah, someone mentioned Alabama State, however if he does transfer then it'll most likely be to McNeese

I'm a firm believer in that a team won't get better unless they are challenged constantly. I dislike that they are playing 4 cupcake teams this year and that Kentucky is the "cross division rival." I would gladly trade UK for UGA, UF, UT, or USC.

 

very cool. i know most of yall keep up with the SEC happenings in here, but im sure you probably saw last year and the year before when UNC was in the massive academic scandal. anyway their coach went on the radio before our State vs UNC football game and was talking about how unc athletes have better grades, actually graduate and that they were the flagship school and all that. really got things really heated before the game between schools.

anyway when there was about 2 minutes left in the game, and right as the 13-0 blowout was about to be final (for States 5th straight win ) they put up a picture of phillip rivers holding his framed jersey with the captions "Graduating... it's a State thing"
possibly the happiest moment of my life. the stadium exploded when that happened.

 

Supposed to have been a good kid. Funny thing, Alabama and Auburn both recruited him heavy as a athlete, not QB, he stuck to his guns and we see how that has played out.
