ive got about 1800 miles on my 12 now, getting between 15-17 mpg, wish it was a little better, not hearing any wind noises, have the standard radio and i love it, the bluetooth works great with my android, i love the lines in the backup camera. i HATE that when you change the color of the Temp/Direction the ice advisory is still GREEN! so i just turned off the advisory since i know ice forms at exactly the moment when its cold outside ;-) other than that i love it. my other truck is a SC'd 98 T100, after riding in the taco for a couple weeks the T shows her age :-/

    First Post here.

    2012 4x4 DCLB TRD Sport
    Super White
    Tow Package
    Running Lights
    Exhaust Tip
    Floor Mats

About 500 Miles on it so far, and I love it.

A couple of minor annoyances...anyone able to comment on these?
-Minor whistling above about 40. Can't hear it with the radio on though. Sounds like it might be the grill others are talking about
-Possible Exhaust Leak? I am hearing a little ticking that somewhat matches the engine RPM's when I am down in the 1.5-2.5K RPM. Can't tell if it is exhaust or something else that will go away after the break in.

Gas Mileage: first tank was about 12 MPG, but I think the dealer didn't put a 100% full tank in it. Second tank was about 16. Mix of City and Highway. Running 87 until this tank, put 91 in it, so we will see how much of a difference that makes.

Overall, I love this truck. Can't wait to get through the break-in period so I can open her up through the gears.

I laughed when I read this, I did the exact same thing! And why does the ice advisory go on at 37 degrees anyway?

When listening to the stock radio (non entune) with USB port, using itunes/mp3, does it display what you are listening to and can you control what you are listening to with the head unit?

Yes. It's pretty rudimentary, however. Here are some pics in a thread about the display limitations of various sources.

i got the 2012 DCLB Sport 4x4 nav and tow packages for 32020. sticker was 34705. no problems what so ever. check out overstocked.com go and get what you want and print out the price and the dealer will honer it. it was really cool to walk in and hand them this paper and then have them come back and say ok.

We fixed the wind noise by shoving a 1/4" sprinkler drip line through the weather stripping at the front of the hood. Other than the rugged fails that come on the truck, this is the same great truck as always.

Much improved stereo and the nav works well. If you have an iPhone, etune is garbage.

Someday we will get leather like them Canadians.

Interesting comments about wind noise. Before I bought my 2012 double cab test drove an access cab which had the noise and it seemed to be coming from the left rear door area. The double cab is quiet as a mouse.

Truck is very solid and consists of:
2012 MGM double cab short bed
    V6 Auto
    Sport TRD
    Upgraded stereo with nav
    Trailer towing package
    Tube steps
    Roof rack
    All weather mats
    Daylight running lights

Price was 33K out the door with not a lot of haggling.

The stereo is the best factory unit I've ever heard bar none, but the NAV is over kill for Alaska.

Drove it 50 miles and installed a set of 4 Hankook studded tires and refilled at half a tank so have not checked the mileage yet. Truck has remained in 4wd for 90% of the time so far.

1.4" plastic drip line. Just shove it inside the weather strip and presto.

I just finished up the same mod using a soft clear 1/4 tubing... bye bye wind noise! Thanks TW for helping me cure this annoying problem with such a simple fix.

I noticed that same noise on my 2012 DCLB 4x4 also... I can only hear it when the truck is cold.
