    I don't know about the iPod - I don't have one. I just used a 16 gig USB key.

The scrolling is on the HD-FM alt-text stuff; channel info, artist/song. I guess, I should clarify - it doesn't scroll, so much as continue on a next line. It's not animated.

    So, to sum up :

    HD-FM : Scrolling 16 char limit
XM : No scrolling 16 char limit
USB : No scrolling 25 char limit

I've noticed in my '11 holding text to scroll works with CDs, doesn't work with sat radio.

im guessing you have the upgraded jbl sound from the factory with blue tooth and all?

cause i've seen people that have that the "text" button works for them and doesnt for those that do not have that package.

Like i have the TRD sport DC SB. without the JBL system and mine does not do that for anything, radio, ipod etc.

Sounds like XM itself doesnt store or send more than a certain number of characters. If I use an ipod, USB or CD does it allow text scroll?

Anybody find a workaround to this - is this happening on the '13's?

This is an XM issue. It happens with all XM units, however, there are newer "SIRIUSXM READY" headunits that work with a newer reciever attachment that apparently have more then 16characters now. Not that this helps in your situation, it's not a shortcoming of your radio. I installed one in my co-workers four runner and it's a VAST improvement and displays full information for track/artist/station.

I dropped SiriusXM last year (after being a customer for about 10 years). I'm fed up with their service. It's overpriced and the sound quality is just terrible. I used to have a neighbor that worked for them and apparently their big corporate secret is that their audio transmission quality is roughly half of what they claim it to be.

Thanks for the info. Just was wondering if anyone had the "magic bullet" or workaround for this. Guess not. All good - thanks for all the info. Appreciate the suggestion but I doubt I will be tearing open the console to replace unless it dies, etc.

My buddy too works for them - he says that have to keep the customer base # high so that they can charge more to advertisers, etc. Hence why us, the customers get deals and half price, etc.
