2012 reverse sensor/warning beep

Hey guys, not sure if this in the right spot but oh well.

My friend has a 2012 DCSB and the other day he noticed that his truck no longer has the warning beeps as he backs up, I know it used to beep because I could here it as he reversed close to a wall a couple weeks ago.

Does anyone here know how to turn it back on?

He said this happened after he took it to our local Midas for an oil change and tire rotation.
Midas is claiming that a rotation and oil change wouldn't do anything to his reverse warning beep thingy.

Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

 

There is no reverse warning beep from the factory.

I remember seeing reverse bulbs with beepers in them. Maybe a previous owner installed one, or a standalone reverse beep module.

ETA: Perhaps I am mistaken, as I hadn't thought it was a part of the reverse camera package. That has changed several times, so perhaps it is factory.

 

if its a manual transmission it beeps when thrown into reverse

 

Hmmm maybe it isn't factory then.

I know there are sensors on his bumper and when reversing close to stuff it beeps

 

ah well then, if theres sensors on the bumper, thats for sure isnt factory.

the only thing tacomas have is a back up cam on the 09-15s

 

When his camera comes on there is a steady beep...when an object comes close to the red line on the camera there is a steady beep that let's you know you're about to hit something

Yeah that has to be aftermarket. Seems pointless to have with a camera. I mean gosh I see that im going hit whatever but im not sure since its not beeping lol.
