i probably would have at least snapped a pic with my cell phone cam. at any rate, it sucks, but i'm sure it will be fixed whatever it is.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Cover yourself and open a file with your State Attorney Generals office just in case. It is no cost to you to do so and they will have a record of the incident.[IMG]

On second thought, I'm thinking you sprung a leak in your wheel cooler and all the snake oil leaked out. You'll need to replace the fluid and that shit a'int cheap.

New vehicles are notoriously difficult to get non maintenance parts for. If the vehicle is going to be in the shop for more than a month, the lemon law will be easy to enact- especially if op is in California. I spent 9 years at a Toyota dealership and i'm familiar with the process.

I say it like it is...I would tell my son, my wife, my neighbor the same thing. If someone invests 30-40k in something and can't even take 10seconds to see where a leak is...come on. When I was young and knew absolutely nothing about vehicles and my car died...I did everything I could to find out where, what, how, etc...Some people aren't mechanically enclined...I get that.

But observation skills or the basic skillset of using your own two eyes, hands, legs and feet to inspect something that you don't know about and request knowledge from a forum like this without pertinant information...is laziness.

I mean nothing mean and hope he gets the issue fixed as a broken down vehicle sucks...I know it has happened to me...but hopefully he will learn from this situation and the next time something like this happens...he will have better information for those that can help fix it.

The people who blatantly roll out...get a new one...lemon law...that doesn't fix the problem...that doesn't identify the problem...it does nothing except depress the owner. It is a truck...it isn't written off...it isn't garbage. It will be repaired. Done

it's not laziness,,,my ass would have had the dealership on the phone. even before i would have stopped rolling to a complete stop if i were in the same situation with a taco that has less then 2,000 miles on it

I'm wondering what the hell he was doing waiting on the tow for that long.....just sitting there? Hell, my girlfriend would be poking her head around under the hood looking at stuff.

I'm with the OP. if I had a 2012 with that low of miles, I'd laugh and say fuck it, not my problem. Let the dealership take care of it. No point of looking under it. They'll tell you what went wrong. NOW, if my non-warranty 06 with 56k had problems, of course, im under the bitch finding out what's going on.

What could the OP do? He did the right thing. He shouldn't have to diagnose why a new vehicle took a crap. He's not a mechanic neither am I but eventually you learn stuff. Pink or red fluid? Did the dealer give him extra red fluid? Glycol or oil based. Take a hike.

I see everyones point in this. However I'm lost too when the OP didn't have time to just take a quick look at what is going wrong. If my truck did that. I'd have the dealer on the phone. However I wouldn't go off like an ass. Just a dissatisfied customer who wants it to be fixed. I will allow them one chance to gain my trust again after a brand new truck did that.

Check the fluid. Have the dealer note this into your history and back it up.

If the OP states its Red, thats Tranny fluid for sure.

Pink water base is coolant and its really pink. Not Red.

    ^ This

OP you will get your brand new truck back all fixed up soon enough...push the dealer to get it fixed...otherwise best of luck.

What depresses the owner of a new truck? Paying a $400+ a month payment while his/her car is in the shop.

Commanderwiggin: are you familiar with dealership procedure for vehicles that need major repairs when they are brand new? If not, then don't tell the guy he shouldn't worry about it! I admit I would have looked myself, but not everyone is as mechanically inclined.
