This kit looks matte black... My TRD Sport stock is gloss?

 

Some of us have matte black dash trim. Hopefully this kit is matte. If u need gloss then just buy the Metra

 

Matte in a 2012 trd sport or other model?

 

Mine is 2012, has matte black trim, non trd

 

Cant wait to see if this one is any better.

On my 12 TRD sport the factory radio is gloss black, but once it is out, everything else is matte black and silver. So, a matte black kit would look good

Ordered one also. The Metra kit is a piece of Shit BTW. Worst 27$ I've ever spent.

 

Metra kit looks good in my 2012

 

The scosche kit above is flat black. The metra kit has the small silver specs that match the paint.

 

I think they are all Chinese pieces of garbage, just a matter of figuring out which piece of garbage is going to suit your truck best. I dont have high expectations for the Scosche kit aside from the fact its flat black and will match the OE trim better than the metra for those of us with flat black trim.

 

On my 2012 Sport, the trim holding the temperature controls is the only smooth glossy black piece of trim. The stock radio was also glossy black so I hope the flat black looks good. I'm also hopeful I can use the stock metal brackets for my pioneer 4400. The plastic Scosche ones I'm now using don't hold the HU well enough.

 

If you look above at the picture i added, it is of the metra glossy kit for my 2012 tacoma. I also have the avh-p4400bh radio. I am happy with it. Just had to shave some off the edges to get it to fit. I am using the metal brackets from the factory.

 

Not sure about the structural quality of the metra but it looks factory from the few guys that have posted pics of the 2012 kit.

I'm not going to be getting my kit anytime within the next few weeks so maybe some 2012 scosche kits will show up.

 

I have the AppRadio 2 and it took minor altering but not bad. People act like its Brain Surgery.

 

My radio unit head JVC KW-HDR81BT would not fit my Metra kit. Your looks great with the Pioneer head. I would like to know what is the model of the Pioneer on your. Thanks.

 

same here. no complaints except for having to custom fit my pioneer.

 

Just ordered the Scosche Kit Matte Black for my 2012 base model. I went with the Pioneer AVH-P3400BH with all of the goodies. Everything is still in the box, just waiting on the Scosche Kit.

 

Isn't the base has a gloss stock trim? Mine is an Prerunner SR5, which seems glossy.
