Any good stereo with GPS and bluetooth that doesn't cost an arm and leg (budget is about 500)?:p

Anybody with this unit? AVic X940BT?

Can you post a pic once you get it installed? I have a glossy stereo with the glossy trim holder for the temp controls. Mine is an SR5.

Also, can somebody list the wiring harness part number (non jbl). Looking at the Avic X940BT

    thanks,

Is your headunit glossy or flat? I just ordered the avic 940bt which seems like a matte flat. Confused to which kit I should go with. My stock trimming has the glossy stereo including the temperature controls.

if your interior trim is gloss then go with the metra kit. if you have flat black trim like some of us then it seems the Scosche kit is the correct cosmetic fit. that photo above shows glossy AC controls.

Were you able to hook up the USB and aux inputs to the factory location? There is a how to somewhere using the Tundra plugs which fit in our blanks. Looks to be the same part so should work with our stock plugs. Only if you have rear inputs tho, which you do.

I went with a Metra because I have the Glossy trim. I had a buddy install it who used to be a professional installer. He still had to screw around with it for about 45 minutes before we got it to look good. There are still a few things I want to add my system though. I am still trying to decide if I want to add to current head unit or buy a newer one that has everything included already!!! I will take a picture of how it turned out when I go out to pick up some lunch later on today and post it up here!!!

Can you tell me if I have the gloss or flat (color blind here):p.

The temperature control surroundings look glossy in person. Anybody have a DIY on how to yank the factory stereo off?

I have the Metra kit on my base 2012 , it works ok with the glossy 80PRS pioneer HU but the mounting brackets are pretty flimsy , anybody knows if the metal OEM brackets will work on a single din?

Mines coming tomorrow, im looking forward to installing it once it arrives.
im currently using the toyota metal brackets w/ the 2011 Metra kit to hold my DNX9990HD, i knew i was going to have to ditch them when i got the scosche kit. im really relieved to to hear they included their own metal brackets, great news.

can you post up some photos?
