    alot soon. hopefully
Here is what they said. Hopefully there is a fix for this axle wrap soon. Don't wanna spend extra money for new leaf springs. They did replace the driveshaft the previous week but of course it's still a 2 piece driveshaft

Got an 09 and a 12 both with the vibration but also both are lifted 6". They only have 10 and 15k almost all while being lifted. Carrier bearing is shimmed about 1.75" on both.

    Sub'd for the remedy!

They changed my transmission mount as part of the TSB to eliminate the vibrations. This did no good and actually made it a little worse in my personal case.

Same here. I was curious if it was a different part than mine. Upgrade or something

The "updated" trans mount was one part of the last TSB, which has been made obsolete. (Because it didn't work)

I'd be pretty surprised if there was a new TSB out yet.

My 2012 26,xxx has this problem too. It's a stock, no lift dbl cab trd o/r. I've been to the dealer twice for vibes from 10-25 ( only in second gear ) with no luck. They told me it was a bent drive shaft so it wouldn't be covered under warranty. It kind of pissed me off so I took it to a friend of mine that does drive shafts to check it. Turns out the drive shaft is not bent, but is out of balance. I drove the truck in 4hi with the d-shaft removed and the vibes were completely gone!! I had a one piece drive shaft made that fixed 75% of my vibrations, but there still is a suttle one. It pisses me off that I spent 28,000 for this truck and toyota wont stand behind their product. I'm gonna stick the 2 piece back in and have my buddy write up something on a company letter head stating that the drive shaft is not bent, but, it is out of balance. We also discovered that the carrier bearing had some play in it. I'm curious what excuse they will come up with next. I'll keep y'all updated!!

Oh, they told me too that the TSB is no longer valid because it dosen't fix the problem.

They were correct. My dealer did the TSB on mine and it did absolutely nothing. 2.5" lift with my Dakar leafs cured the rear vibes though!

I'd try another dealership if I were you, yours doesn't sound very helpful. It's not Toyota, it's the dealer.

FYI... heard back from my toyota dealer today on the driveline vibe tsb.... he spoke to his rep and they stated they have revoked the tsb due to it not fixing anything and are working on a fix for the issue.

Hopefully this might help someone - but take your truck to a (reputable) specialty driveline shop and have your drive shaft inspected and balanced. I never really had a bunch of problems on my 2007 prerunner but after the U joints were replaced at 208k miles it started doing the 25mph -35mph shudder (and a low hum around 60 -80). I checked for out of phase, etc. replaced the rear engine mount myself (per TSB....it was only $60 in parts so figured I'd give it a shot). It helped a little but still wasn't right. Took it to a shop and they said everything was installed correctly - but the shaft was "way" out of balance. Not sure how/why as it is stock and is a daily driver...but that was the verdict. They high speed balanced it and it now drives like new. About $180 and done. Might be worth a check as I've seen people looking for new shafts, pricey center bearings, new leaf springs, changing drive angles, etc. Anyway - perhaps this will help for a lot less than any of those.

Reviving an old thread, but after 17 pages and reading multiple threads, I'm not finding much info on a permanent fix here (with the exception of the above post).

We've had this issue for years on my wife's 2006 DCSB Sport. I replaced all the u-joints and carrier bearing myself when the truck was pretty new to us (at about 100k), but it didn't do the trick. It's not the first time I've thrown parts at something and not fixed it, so I was bummed but not surprised.

After living with the issue for another 60k, we got an extended warranty/TSB notice about leaf springs and they were replaced last fall. Fingers crossed axle wrap was the problem, but that wasn't it either. Fast forward a few months later and we got a notice to have u-joints inspected under extended warranty. Again, fingers crossed this would be the fix.

Dealer replaced two u-joints under warranty and since they had the driveline apart, recommended changing the carrier bearing. It was in bad shape (after only 60k. Must be all that vibration that wore it prematurely). After nearly $600, the vibration is still there. At least it makes me feel better about my own mechanicing. Dealer admitted it was still there, but said it's likely the motor/tranny mounts which have been updated with a new part number since then, but I've since read they haven't been the fix for everybody, either.

Lotta threads on this issue but seems I can only find complaints and no real fixes (other than the 3rd gen 4Runner driveline swap or to have the drive shaft balanced by a specialty shop). I don't want to wear through another carrier bearing and be out this kind of money down the road (even if I did the work myself; that assembly is spendy). But my wife and I are sick of it vibrating more than anything.

Is there anything else I'm missing here?
