    OP,

I'm really sorry you've had to fight your way through all these douche bag responses. Seems like 90% of this site would rather jump on you for mixing up a few Toyota acronyms instead of read what you typed. It also appears that most of the same smart asses really don't understand how their systems operate despite their incredibly condescending responses, talking to you like you were an idiot.

Limited slip (regardless of how it's achieved) should send power from the wheel that slips to the wheel that's got grip. The power won't be even like a locker, but you should have some power diverted - I think you know that. Your jack test is perfectly valid and has been used for a very long time to verify the presence of a limited slip differential.

I was 99% certain last night, but had not checked for myself so this morning I went and put the jack under my 2012 Offroad on my driveway:

Left rear tire off the ground, put the truck in drive, no Auto LSD, just TRAC as activated when you start the truck in 2 wheel drive. At idle speeds the left rear tire spun freely, the right rear tire didn't move. Gave it a little gas and the ABS solenoids activated on the spinning tire (lights flashing on the dash), directed power to the right rear and the truck drove off the jack.

Jacked it up again, left rear tire off the ground, activated the auto LSD, put it in drive. Same thing - at idle speeds the left rear spun freely, truck went no where. Gave it some throttle, could hear the ABS solenoids activating, power was directed to the tire on the ground and the truck drove off the jack.

Your truck is not working properly, take it to the dealer and have them check it out.

Once again, sorry you had to wade through 12 pages of douche bag responses from people to get an answer.

    David

This has been explained several times.

    :eek::crazy:

    Once wasn't enough.

    :poking:

Last night I wasn't sure if fire was hot, so I turned on the stove and looked at the flame, no heat. I then stuck my face in the fire and got burned.

I didn't die or burn down the house so I tried it one more time, same thing, I burned my face.

I have now concluded, fire is in fact hot. Hopefully my experiment has helped those of you who are not sure if fire is hot or not.

Thanks to David, champion of the mistreated, for jacking his truck up in the air and then driving it off of a jack to prove to himself and others that limited slip works like its supposed to, without this experiment limited slip would have been misunderstood for years to come.

Good job, keep fighting the good fight. Together, we D-bags can do anything:oldglory::homer:

Everyone is just having a little fun here, the OP had his question answered seriously and correctly at least 20 times. The rest is just Saturday night debauchery.

And to Canazes9, maybe a little morning debauchery! All in good fun though no hate intended by any means.

    Are you serious?

He is told repeatedly that LSD won't function w/ one tire off the ground.

He is told repeatedly that there is nothing wrong with his truck - he's just an idiot retard that doesn't know how to use it correctly. Here let me insert another 500 links on how to operate a 4wd correctly.

He is told repeatedly that the only problem is that he didn't buy the offroad package instead of the sport package - then he would have a locker, quit crying cause your too stupid to buy the right truck.

If his truck won't drive off a jack there is something wrong with it. I have no idea why that simple concept throws everbodys panties in a wad and makes them post EEK smilies. It's not like your jacking it 4 feet in the air - get the tire off the ground about 0.5" drive forward, the truck gently drives off the jack, jack falls gently to the ground. I've done it with a bunch of old muscle cars to without any drama, much less a truck designed for offroad use.

I see no reason to screw with a new member "just for fun" when he's asking a serious question.

    Rarely:)

The question was asked, then answered, then asked, then answered, repeat 20 more times. So if you get an answer and you keep asking the same question, your likely to get some smart a$$ responses.

The bottom line to this thread though is,

    A. read your manual
    B. If your confused ask a question
    C. If you are not happy with the answer, take it the dealership and find out for sure.

Q - Is my truck broke?
    A - No
    Q - Are you sure?
    A - Yes, its fine
    Q - I think it's broke
    A - No it's ok
    Q - I don't think so, I think it's broke
A - Ok take it to the dealership
Q - I don't want to if its not broke
A - Ok dont take it
Q - But what if its broke?
    A - Then take it
    Q - You think I should?
    A - Yes
Q - Why? Do you think its broke?
    A - I don't know

    Repeat.

Hopefully you see the problem here. I hope the OP's truck is not broke and he confirms this through the dealership and is satisfied with his truck and goes on to have many happy years with his truck. Seriously.

No he doesn't you no reading comprehension, retard douche bag.

He wants to know why the auto LSD/Trac system on his truck isn't working. As in it isn't doing anything at all, not why it isn't working like lockers. He mixed up a few toyota acronyms and you and several others just ran with it, then went out of your way to belittle him.

You either don't know what the fuck you are talking about or you deliberately trolled him for fun. Either way - Douche Bag.

Geez whipper, you have an amazing collection of insult jpegs!

Keep posting them up one after the other, don't by any means re-read any of the posts and admit you were being a jack-ass and didn't read what the OP posted, repeatedly posted wrong information (either cause you were too stupid to know better or because you were deliberately being a troll.

    FTW!
