I've been dealing with driveline vibrations on my 2012 Tacoma DCSB since the day I bought it. Between 10-35 it's horrendous on both acceleration and deceleration! I've been trying to remedy this problem for 6 months, but Toyota said it was "normal". I finally got frustrated enough to mount a GoPro camera focused on the carrier bearing, since this is where I guessed the problem lies. The video is evidence of the vibration I've been feeling since the day I bought it. It happens on acceleration and deceleration between speeds of about 15-40. With weight in the bed or when towing a trailer, it's MUCH worse. This test was done with ZERO payload in my truck for reference. This is certainly not what I expected from a brand new $33,000 Toyota!

My truck is bone stock and has just over 6,000 miles.

No noise at all because I'm traveling at 50mph +

Watch the rear shaft on this video. It appears it's either bent our completely off-center.

This video documents the vibration the worst. You can actually hear it shudder on deceleration. I'm traveling in my neighborhood about 25-30mph.

It's a shame Lexis doers not make a pickup. Go the the dealer and drive another one see how it acts.

I have to get a gopro love those things.
2012 here with 8100 miles no vibration so not all of them do it.
Stay on the dealership, show them these videos and shoot for a new driveshaft and carrier bearing.

I have to agree on a $30k truck it is very annoying they sure dont make them like they used to but that goes for all vehicles now.

I would have never imagined how much lateral movement there is in a driveshaft! These vids should be proof enough for the dealership to get this straitened out.

Very good video! Hopefully there will be a TS-B out for this annoying problem. I have a 2012 with 6k miles on it and it has done this same thing since day 1. Dealership replaced a u-joint they said was overtightened from the factory. Vibes still there. Haven't had time to deal with them again.

My dealership has been pretty good. Their hands are tied. They feel the vibrations. They called in a regional rep. He said it was "normal", which I never accepted as an answer. I think the video speaks for itself. I can make it vibrate at will......and now it's good to see that the shaft is actually making a noise and out of round or bent. The truck smooths out above 50mph, which is odd.

I am sure a drive line is like tires with the balance weights.

It can be fine at one rpm but bad at another.

Have you asked them about rebalancing the drive line?

I had the vibration then I lifted the truck and the vibration went away. I was expecting it to get worse. You could say I was happily shocked to say the least.

I don't think rebalancing will work. The rear section of the driveshaft is clearly bent or off-center. Like I said, it's done it since day 1. If I get a chance i'll shoot some video with a trailer hitched and about 2500lbs. It shakes so bad that it would spill a drink in the cup holder.
