It's kind hard to add everything depending on the condition of the parts and where you buy them bit everything for me was around 1000 new and used parts.

So, it's all straight bolt on? I no longer have a stock bumper or anything behind it...to do the upper half all I would need is -headlights, hood, and grill? Is there any other supporting pieces that go along with those three, or is that just an easy swap?

see my thread, i did full conversion from scratch all part numbers listed, you need alot more than that, but it is all bolt on, to get all the parts new, without paint (except hood since i could not find a new one) , it was about $3500 i believe i have to check

    cheers,

Ok you didn't really answer my question lol, I noticed on your thread you ran into trouble with the bumper...I did mention that I don't need the bumper...just the hood/lights/grill....are those three items completely bolt on to a pre-2012+, or are there supplemental parts to those. IE are all the bolt holes the same??

Everything is bolt on I didn't do any drilling . I even used the same bolts. And it wasnt as much for me because I found most of the parts used bro. Did you really read my tread.? Anyway if you have specific questions let me know.

    Hello RG11,
I'm in the planning stages of this mod. I have found a lot of the parts at RockAuto but I'm also going to look into your suggestions for suppliers.

If I have any questions, is it still OK to pick your brain.

By the way, I have a 2006, Pre-Runner. Red. It has a leveling kit on it and some cool nerf bars. I put slightly over sized tires on it to give it a bit more aggressive look. I'll try to attach a picture.

Hope to be able to get your help as I go along. Thanks.

    Steve

Sounds interesting bust gosh, for my money I would rather put the $3500 into a sweet suspension system or armour, bumpers, and winch. Good to know its possible though.

I personally like the high polished chrome look. Of course my truck is a Pre-Runner, not a 4x4. It doesn't see the off road very often. I like to try to keep it clean shiny. And that's just how I am.

I know what some will say, why put on a leveling kit and aggressive looking tires then? My choice, my personality. I think the chrome will look good with my bars and wheels. And since we live in Arizona, we can get away with some pretty dark window tint which looks great with the red and chrome.

    Just my 2 cents.

From the quick research I've done so far, I think it could be done for considerably less than that. Most likely under $1500. That's using mostly aftermarket parts and the necessary OEM stuff.

Like RG11 said, some parts are best if OEM is used. And I happen to work with a guy who does paint and body. And modifying or fabricating a part or two wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

So I think I'm going to look further into it. If you folks like, I'll post my results.

    Thanks for listening.

^ Here is some inspiration for you Steven. Since you have a Rad Red and all. . . My 2007 with the 12+ Conversion completed in December of 2012. Its much easier to source parts now then it was then. One of my favorite mods for sure and the fact its in Rad Red. . . Even more Rare & Amazing.

So, on a 2011, with an aftermarket prerunner bumper, I should only need a new grill, headlights and hood? and its all completely bolt on? don't need any new mounts?

Everything that I listed is needed to make it work that includes hood/lights/grill/bumper/reinforcement bar...ect. Best place to get many of the OEM parts was toyotapartszone.com.

    Quick update for those interested.

Saturday I received my first shipment, some misc parts, clips and brackets and the hood support bracket.

Today I received some more misc parts and brackets, the fender inner support arms, the headlights and the hood. The hood was exciting because it's a BIG part of the build. I got the one with the scoop. The scoop parts should be here tomorrow. The hood has a couple of scratches and one corner is very slightly bent. Easily repairable. I was prepared for much worse.

Tomorrow should be the big exciting shipment. It's going to be the fog lights, the grills, bumper fillers, bumper ends and some support brackets. Can't wait for that one.

The bumper cover should be here soon too. Tomorrow or Wednesday. Another big one.

I'll be able to get paint and do the build within a couple weeks I hope. I'm really excited. The tail lights will most likely be next on my list. I need to decide if I want to go stock 2013 or maybe a nice after market mod.

For anyone interested, my total bill up to this point is, drum roll please,,,,,,,$1,588.08. I believe I'll have everything I'll need to do the build. My only additional expense will be paint. And hopefully my buddy at work will be good to me.

If any of you have any comments or questions, please feel free to post.

Thanks for reading, more as I progress. And I'll try to remember to get pictures.
    Steve

And thanks to RG11 for his help and messaging with me. Thanks Roland.
