I would love to have a manual t-case but im pretty sure to toyota it would be a step backwards since they have electric t-case currently

So what are the slots near the audio input in the center stack? Are they just blanks for aftermarket switches? ... and i wonder why they added one if so.

no it wouldnt. The new 4runner got one and so does the FJ I would bet a large amount of money on the real 3rd gen following suit and getting a manual T case just like the FJ and 4runner.

The more time I spend looking at this new updated interior, the more I realize how minor the upgrades really are! Some different panel shapes here, some blacked out trims here, new gauge cluster, and black carpet...thats it! I like the look but its nothing to exciting really. Not enough for most current Tacoma owners to trade up in a hurry. If they wanted to really move some initial units, new powertrains would have done the trick! Id be first in line for a higher output 4 cylinder 4x4!

An sr5 4runner with leather and a sunroof is an suv. The manual transfer case will carry over and be shared just like the power train will eventually. Watch.

New options include heavy-duty all-weather flooring on Access Cab and Double Cab models,

Definately would like the FJC flooring in a truck.
Also if you looked at the MT article photos they put one of those aero "sharkfin"antennas by the third brake light and left a stupid stub bump where the original whip antenna was (lazy redesign).

your wrong, the limited gets the dial because it has a locking center diff. The sr5 and the trail have the manual transfer case. I have a sr5 4wd with leather, sunroof, heated seats, the whole shebang in my driveway. Now if it anything to you guys with the manual t case you loose a cup holder and I've found it to create problems since I usually use one for change.
