Ok I'm super excited. Next month the 2012's will be coming in (i live in Hawaii), and I'm going to buy one. First new vehicle ever in my life.

I'm going for the dcab 4x4 manual. I can't decide between sport package or the off road. I don't do much offroading but I like the look of the chrome and no hood scoop. Any advice?

People will go back and forth all day long on the Off-Road vs. Sport argument.

Do you want a short bed or long bed?

Oh, I'm going for the shortbed. I know its a hard choice. Probably price will make the decision for me but even that is pretty close. Another factor that is playing a role is the 16" wheels. 16" tires seem cheaper that 17 or 18s. In the long run, might save me a couple grand.

Only reason I asked is if you said long bed, the decision would have been made for you.

After a couple sets of tires, it could potentially save you a couple grand. The price difference between the two TRD packages is not much, as you know.

If you are going to be doing a lot of off-roading, more than just a weekend warrior, then I would say go with the TRD Off-Road. Adding a locker after the fact is extremely expensive.

If you plan on doing a Satoshi, then the grille surround won't be an issue, as you can just get it color-matched when you spring for it.

The hood scoop is cool, but after owning both an Off-Road and a Sport, it's not a big deal. I prefer the look of the Off-Roads with the color-matched grille, aftermarket rear bumper and meatier tires on the 16's personally.

i'll have to take a look at them both. Looks like it'll be a wash in cost. I'll probably go for what I think looks better.

I like the 16s for looks and cost.

    Thanks Fink!!

The other angle is supply, Hawaii people LOVE the sport, there may not be too many off road's available.

With the vehicle price at $32,643 it's around $2,000 over invoice. That's what I'm going off of when I say that.

cool wizzard. I almost crapped my pants when I saw the total price but then saw that you have entune. I'm planning on manual trans, no entune so hopefully I can get out the door closer to 30,000.

Who did you order it through?

here's a current pic of my 2.5 week old Taco.

N-fab step bars, 5100's all around, Eibach coils set at zero, 23% tint all around, installed toyota roof rack.

3000k HID fogs, BHLM, and morimoto retrofit (shipped out this morning) are next!

Waiting on rims to be in stock and I hope to be finished.....for the year.
