    Hey guys.

I've had my 2012 Double cab TRD off-road with the TX pro package for about a month now. Got about 2,500 miles on it.

I really love the truck.... Except for the brakes.

I know the 2012 has EBD. Maybe i'm just having a tough time getting used to it, but I am having a very difficult time getting used to the pedal. It doesn't seem linear or predictable to me. I'm either coming to a stop way faster than I wanted too, or rolling too far into intersections. When I give it light brake pressure, it does nothing for the first few mm's of pedal then the assist kicks in and it gives it much more brake force than I wanted.

Am I crazy, do you think my truck has issues, or has anyone else notice something similar?

yeah I wouldn't rate the brakes as the best I've used- I do like the beefy opposed piston calipers up front, but the actual braking is definitely not as linear as I would like

it's possible a pad change might help, could simply be a function of the EBD or something built into the brake ECU program and pads wouldn't help

not sure what role (if any) having drums in the rear would have either, funny they didn't upgrade to discs in the rear

Hmm maybe this is a heavier V6 issue? I have no problems stopping my '12. In fact, they are some of the best brakes that I've had on a car/truck to date. Not overly sensitive, but certainly stops all of the truck when I want it to.

The gas pedal is a little spongy for my tastes, but I think that could just be related to it being a 4 banger anyways :p

outright stopping is pretty darn good, just the braking is not very linear through the pedal

Hmm maybe I'm just used to it as my Camaro had real stiff brakes. My mom's 2011 v6 Camry has ridiculous brakes. It actually hurts to keep my foot that far off the pedal to be so delicate with it. Thing stops like no other. I could swear it had a Brembo big rotor kit :p

Thanks for the feedback guys. Don't get me wrong, the truck will stop very well. It's just the smoothness of the operation. I'm going to bring it by the dealer just to have them double check.

I have an issue with mine as well.. what did the dealer say.
My brakes feel like a torque wrench i go to press on them and then a little click occurs like im using a torque wrench driving me crazy. also a little squishy noise occurs when i apply pressure. Dealer mechanic said the noise was normal havnt had time to check on the click.
