    I dont think the 2012 is supposed to have anything different going on with the front bumper/face. heard it might look a little more aggressive.

    By saying "the same engine and frame" doesn't need to be interpreted as a negative thing. Technically the FJ and 4-Runner have the same engine, 4.0 V6. Better valve timing could just be considered an upgrade to "the same engine". Also, they Tacoma and the FJ share the same frame already which I see as no big deal. The wheel base and turning radius are decent on both, not great but decent.

    I still think we will see the dual vvti in the new Tacoma. Chances are Toyota already had plans to have the updated Tacoma and incorporate the new v6 pre-tsunami disaster/nuclear meltdown, etc. With all their expansion stateside and down south, I still think we have something "new" coming and we should all be optimistic.

    It obviously won't be a 3rd gen. but if you were looking to get a 2011 anyway, I def think its worth the extra wait.........and you know we haven't heard the whole story yet. There will be features that we don't know are coming.........aka Trail package from the 4-Runner.....KDSS.......X-REAS on a possible Limited Tacoma.......TX-Pro with power up/down rear back glass.....etc. They've been staying hush hush, not only to sell as my 11's as possible, but because something all new is coming out. I think it will be more than a "minor" refresh.

    You make a good point...same engine different valve timing...Optimistic I will remain.
