I have a 2012 tacom TRD off road 2wd I drive 100 miles a day. All highway except for about 30 miles. It has 103k v6 with a cold air intake and 265/75r16 tires I dont understand wht I'm only getting 16mpg I dont go over 70 and I never go over about 2200 rpm. I cleaned the cold air and the throttle body. And I pulled the batter for about 2hrs and still no improvement. I'm about ready to see if a factory air box will fix it what do yall think

What kind of mpg are you expecting? You have oversized tires so that accounts for some loss due to larger rolling diameter and they are probably a lot heavier than stock.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Slap some new plugs into it and clean the mass airflow sensor

If you look at the door sticker it calls for 265/70r16 not bigger than stock and I will have to try new plugs and I was expecting at least around 19 my buddy's 4x4 tundra get 27mpg

Increase the tire pressure and drive 55.

    265/75/16 is bigger than 265/70/16.
That’s what I run and I wouldn’t plan on getting 19 unless you cruise on a flat road at 50 mph. I get a solid 16-17 most of the time. Those tires have a rolling diameter a little more than 3% bigger than stock so that accounts for about 0.5 mpg.

So a 1inch difference in height is going to be that dramatic in mpg I call bs

CAI's can play havoc with your MAF. I'd say either go back to the stock intake or get the truck HP Tuned (or both). I was seeing pretty lousy fuel economy when I lifted and added bigger tires to my truck. Then got the HP Tuner cable, credits and forum member JustDSM's tune and my truck is seeing 15-20% better fuel economy (along with driving waaaay better, stronger and smoother). With as much as you're driving, you'd make up for the cost of the tuner in no time.

I have never seen a tundra getting 27mpg. How are you calculating you and your buddy's gas mileage?

Check the tire weight. I’d be willing to be those tires are more than 10 lbs heavier than OE tires. That makes a huge difference since it’s rotation mass.

Switch the rear diff oil over to synthetic and if you’ve never changed the shock absorbers that might be a good idea, too
