I'm not to sure about that illumination plug however. I'll have to look into that.

For everyone's information the drawing is for the illumination of the steering wheel stereo controls.

Yeah, if I would have just traced W/R I would have figured it out.
I just seen the only G/W wire with a Blue Plug and thought I found it.
    Thanks @Jimmyh

Looks like the Op has bailed on us.

@Carguy42 How about an update or at least let us know if you have a regular cab...

You guys figured it out really well. That blue plug is a rear speaker plug for a vehicle that didn't come with and wasn't pre-wired for rear speakers. Toyota has been using the same plugs for decades. And yes, that green/white wire is a dashlight ground wire. That green/white wire is only used on factory Toyota HU's.

Now we know, good thinking on Jimmys part about no rear speakers.
Even better now you confirmed it for us.
    Thank again.

Your post I responded too sounded more like you were grading our troubleshooting skills.

Maybe I'm too sensitive. Or just old and cranky.

I don't understand the part about re-pinning the connector wires. You could install the stereo with the blue connector disconnected and it would make ZERO Difference. You have no rear speakers and the illumination ground is not used for your aftermarket stereo.

The connector you show in the OP is not defective, It just serves no purpose for the truck without rear speakers. None.

There is the ground for factory illumination - Not connected with aftermarket stereo.

The two pairs of rear speaker wires - Also not connected in your case, you have no rear speakers.

Is there a female harness plug that has the illumination ground with it? The one I bought only has the 4 rear speaker wires.

I am using a male harness plug to connect into factory head unit, then taking rear speaker wires and all other speaker wires through a speed cable directly into my amplifier for line level inputs as it has crossover functions at amp.

All other grounding wires, acc, power/etc are being wired to a female harness.

On that smaller blue plug I just don’t want to miss that 5th wire and don’t want to do any cutting. I have the 5th wire on my male harness connected.

    Any thoughts?

I have never seen an aftermarket plug with the Green / White Stripe wire as they are made for the installation of an aftermarket stereo. You say you're using an OEM Stereo so you will probably have to improvise a connection for the illumination ground.

I figured it out. After realizing the extra pin on the Metra 1761 harness was the Illumination negative or ground wire. I just ran a single wire from the aftermarket male wire harness orange/black wire to a ground bolt near the floor of my front passenger kick panel. Radio illuminates fine now when headlights are turned on.
