Hi all. I’ve got my 2012 standard cab and I was trying to replace my tire with a spare. The problem is, when I insert the jack tool to lower the tire, (under the bed)it gets stuck after one full turn. Is the lowering chain catching on itself? Rust? The tire is currently hanging down one full turn loose. I can’t raise or lower!

PB Blaster, or hook up an impact to the rod to loosen it. I don’t know if it’s possible to reach with the tire in the way but there are I believe 4 bolts facing down that can be removed to take the whole spare chain system out. That sucks you’re stuck where it’s at though. Mine is cable driven rather than a chain, no idea why as the chain seems to be more standard.

I’m pretty sure my 2015 is a cable, not a chain. Obviously it could still be stuck

Pretty sure the 2015 has a chain.
It would seem that maybe a chain link has turned sideways and is binding the pulley. you will need to get under the truck, look and you May be able to get a short prybar into the link and free it up.
