    Hello,

i recently changed the spark plugs in my 2012 toyota tacoma 4.0 V6. Upon the first start it started for a few seconds and then stalled. It started fine on the second try. It ran and drove fine for a few weeks. Once or twice it would stall on first attempt but on second attempt it would start fine. I also found better luck when letting the key sit in the on position for a few seconds and then cranking it. It sat for 5 days while i was out of town and when i got back and tried to start it it did the same thing. The only difference is that this time the second try was no different. I took the battery out and tested it which showed it was bad. I replaced the battery but am still facing the same issue. Another thing to note is that the dealership replaced the secondary air injection valves and pump on recall a few days prior to changing the spark plugs

anyone have any ideas or had the same problem?

Clean the throttle body and see if that takes care of it, I bet it's dirty.

    Update,

i tried unplugging the MAF sensor and it ran but rough. I plugged it back in and it started up and ran as normal but with a CEL and a TRAC OFF light. I would imagine that means the MAF is bad unless that indicates something else im not aware of.

That test really doesn't mean anything, it's not gona run that well with the MAF sensor unplugged because that's the main input that tells the PCM how much air is going into the engine so it can add the appropriate amount of fuel.
Also the CEL and Trac Off lights will be on after because you will have set codes by unplugging the MAF.
I would really suggest cleaning the throttle body and relearning the idle before thinking about replacing any parts.
