Ya I've had a close look at everything install wise...it's the reflash that I'm after. I've sent out a bunch of emails already about the Calibration files...saying that I need them as the supercharger is already installed (which of course it isn't) :D

The '12 SC installed in town was complete with reflash. It appears to me that TRD is still gathering info before releasing it to the public. TRD may need to refine their settings based on user feedback (like the one here in town), but I would doubt much needs to be done. TRD and Toyota are never in a hurry.

Can you PM me dealer/contact info? I want to get in on this Beta and every CSR I speak to at TRD doesn't know anything and won't push for more info.

2 of 3 Dealers here in CO I've spoken to say they can get/install the S/C into a 2012 @ $6,500. The other says it's not available yet sees it offered in the TRD catalog. Doesn't give me a lot of confidence as he also doesn't seem to know if it needs premium fuel.

Just got an email back from TRD...

"We are waiting for approval from the state of California on the emissions side. I believe we are ready to go and just need this piece of paper. We are about 3 weeks away from approval."

Still digging into more info. Wonder if Canadians are exempt from this approval...

A supercharger for $6,500? No thank you. For that much I can almost buy an entire old track car.

You are paying WAY too much for a supercharger at $6,500. The worst I have ever seen one go for was $5,500 with install. The person paid MSRP ($4,500) for the S/C and then the dealer wanted extra time to install it and billed $1,000.

You have a brand new 2012 Tacoma. I'm sure there are plenty of other things you could put your money towards. I would wait until Toyota has a final version ready for release to the public and not some half-assed unapproved software that is being released because some people just want to throw money at it. Toyota made changes to certain engine systems, those changes need to be worked in before they release the software. If you do find someone willing to install it look VERY VERY carefully at the warranty terms. There may be a clause that states that using unofficial software may void your warranty in case of failure. Well, beta software is unofficial so the risk is all yours.

I'm not trying to attack anyone who wants one, hell. I'm getting one put on my '09 next month but after finding a good price online and a dealer that knows how to do it I will be paying about $4,500 installed.

which dealers are quoting that much in denver? i bought mine just north of denver for way less than that and got quotes from several before i bought. the highest price i was quoted was 5400.00 installed. i would shop around a little more. i bought mine from stapp interstate toyota for like 4600.00ish maybe a little less but i know it wasnt more. talk to jeff in parts they are a little north of denver though youd have to drive to firestone.

Just got another verification from none other than the man himself at TRD Bob Garner:
"Everything is ready with the exception of final C.A.R.B. approval. Should be for sale in the next 3~5 weeks."

keep us informed as soon as you know when the reflash is available as I want to put the S/C on my 2012 as I think it is weaker than my 09 was.
This truck has no balls, at least my 09 had a little bit.

Both Go Toyota on Arapahoe and Stevinson's. $4,500 for the SC and $2k for the install. Needless to say I haven't bought either the truck or the SC.

Any dealer that wants 2K to install a S/C has no idea what they are doing. Toyota quotes six hours to install a S/C which would be around 700-800 depending on your dealer. Some dealers want more because it can take their tech longer to get it installed. My dealer charges 10 hours for the install and charges 1K for it. The tech who will be installing it does 90% of the S/C installs the dealer does and that's just how long it takes.

"keep us informed as soon as you know when the reflash is available as I want to put the S/C on my 2012 as I think it is weaker than my 09 was.

The engine's for the '09 and the 2012 are the same. They just made some minor emission system changes to it but the performance ratings have remained the same, the 'head factor' might be taking a toll on your performance :p

This may be a stupid question but all the mis-information these dealers have given me about SC's has caused doubt ... do you have to run premium fuel wit ha SC? My understanding is yes but hopefully someone here is a bit more educated.

You must run premium. Otherwise you run the risk of detonation, lean AFR, knocking, and other very bad things,

    The better coast
After reading through this whole thread...I must agree, if it full of derp. And by me adding no useful information to this thread, by the definition of someone, I must be trolling .

On a side note 6500 for a SC is kind of up there...not my money though.

Wonder why it is set in stone that you need premium with a Toyota where as with a GM Silverado 6.2 which also requires premium the computer (ECM)will allow 87 octane use by adjusting timing to it with no ill effects.

The Toyota computer can't adjust timing?

    Sounds fishy to me.
