    Could mount a 30" above it like most, then fill the winch opening with a 10" (or whatever size that opening is).

    You might want to go back and read the dev thread, there is quite a bit of discussion about this. LED lights are deep, they will hit the winch so they have to clear the ends of the winch. You can mount up to a 4" wide light with the light tabs we have in this bumper. If you mount a light across the opening it will have to stick way out front and then you will not be able to access the winch clutch or solenoid box. This would also dictate some sort of 'custom' mounting solution as well.
