I am having almost this same issue. Mine is a 2009, and I bought 2018 tires and wheels. What I have found is that the sensors are 2 different kinds. I also found out that in GEN 2 wheels, they made 2 types of sensors. One for steel wheels and one for alloy wheels. As of today (still in testing phase), I had the tire shop take off my old 2009 sensors (for steel wheels) and replace the 2018 sensors (for alloy wheels). They said to drive it a while and they should reset.
They also said that 2 of them had very low battery life, so it may not correct itself. They tried to sell me new 2009 steel wheel sensors for $60 each. I decided to hold off and wait. I found them on fleebay for $135 for a set of 4.
in case you have to head that direction..... Here are the Denso part numbers.

    Steel wheels 550-0104
    Alloy wheels 550-0103

I took the ones out of my 2012 and put them in the 2016 rims and it worked for me with no issues.
