Barely got it 6 days ago 5/4/2021 but I’ve already tinted it and added the grille w the raptor lights.
my 2 gen has a 7 prong for the trailer connector. I'm not very familiar with trailer brakes and stuff like that but do i need to add in a module for the electric brakes for the trailer or is that all included in the 7 prong connector and are the brakes then automatic for the trailer or? sorry for my naiveness just looking for help as ill be pulling a 3,000 LB camper this weekend.

I'm aware of the harness in the cabin by the emergency brake with a connector that is ready for the e brake module that would need to be installed but I don't know if I need to install that module or not.

Yes you need to get a trailer brake controller and adapter harness and find a spot to mount it, Hopkins makes both.

You need to install a controller to work the trailer brakes. Redarc and tekonsha are the favorite brands around here. I personally use the primus IQ because its cheap, but still loaded with the essentials (proportional, uses accelerometers to modulate braking, can be mounted at most reasonable angles).

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Typically an OEM tow package has all the fixins installed but you will need a brake controller like a Tekonsha, Reese, Draw-tite, etc. The controller allows for manual application of trailer brakes and allows the proper adjust of the trailer brakes when you activate the truck brakes. It allows modulation control so depending on the trailer load and weight, it doesn't lock up the trailer brakes when you apply the truck brakes...or vice versa. This is a pretty simplified explanation but bottomline, YES, you do need to plug a controller into that harness in the footwell. You need the controller and a proper harness to interface. It's plug n play from there.

    Do floor mats count? ;)
Your truck is pre-wired for it but, yes. You need a controller installed if you want your trailer brakes to operate.

Correct. If you want to save money you can make your own harness (most controllers come with a pigtail for doing so). But I would recommend spending the extra 15-20 bucks and buying the premade one. So much easier.
