First off i know this has been brought up before and i did search for the info but didn't see 2012 specific.

Anyway.....I just got off the phone with Crutchfield ordering my speakers for the truck. I ordered the JL Audio C2650 component system for the front and the JL Audio C2-650X for the rear doors.
The set for the rear doors is listed as a 6 1/2" - 6 3/4", the person on the phone at Crutchfield swore to me up and down that they wont fit in the truck even though the truck is listed as having stock 6 1/2" speakers in the door.

Can anyone back that up before i order them? I swear i have seen multiple threads about installing the 6 3/4" in the rear. Taco Tunes even sells the adaptors to do it ....

Get the adapters anyways. The stock speakers are roughly 6.5"s but the trays they're in suck. They wont be deep enough for your aftermarket speaker.
