2012 uneven tire wear

    The best test for even tire wear is the chalk test. Mark across the tread of your tire with a line of chalk and drive up and down your street. If it wears in the middle more than the edges, PSI is too high. If it wears in the shoulders more than the middle, PSI is too low. Adjust the PSI accordingly until chalk wear is even.

    Also, tire pressure HOT is usually 6-8 PSI higher than cold. Usually, a hot tire should read around 42 PSI, so it should have around 34-36 PSI cold.

    Also, PSI changes depending on the ply tire you're running. A 3 ply tire should be around 34-36 PSI cold, while an 8ply tire should have 60-80 PSI (You're gonna run different PSI front and rear with an 8 ply tire).
