Just a bunch of old crap
If the end of the Mayan calendar signifies the end of the world, then I guess my Outlook calendar only having appointments into January means that I'll die right after CES? I better get straight with God.

How many end of the world predictions have we've lived through? lol.

I've remembered the Y2k one (i'm still young :p), and then recently that weirdo old man who thought it was ending in october of this year.

I think 2012 is a bunch of crap, but on the other end, I think "what if?". and that 2012 movie was really interesting to me.

Ok this might be a silly (VERY SILLY ACTUALLY) observation...but...

for some DUMB odd reason I feel like all the movies made about the end of the world, or zombies, or the one like Red Dawn, Battle Los Angeles (and all the previously made similar movies), I feel as if in a sense, they were made to "prepare" us. Not just the people but the nation or world in general. Many people have become preppers, and I'm sure many decided to do so after watching movies similar to those above.

It's always been a topic of interest, if you will, to me. The entire world going to shit, or the US actually being invaded, or the world for that matter. Be it by another nation, or aliens. I really do believe in aliens, just that the public has no actual proof really sucks.

Is the government subconsciously trying to prepare us, or is it just one of those hollywood genres that will always continue to be rehashed for the sake of making money?

    Opinions??

Ja, ich weiss!!! :p I know it was a remake. Back then it was the Soviets, and now the Koreans.

War of the worlds, remake. Probably a whole bunch of other ones that I don't know of. but still an interesting topic, don't ya think?
