    Hey guys,
I am a new member today, I have always wanted a Tacoma and I used to have a Hilux back in the '80s, but I have been without a Toyota since 1982,
quick question, I don't have all the specifics yet, but I'm excited about having the opportunity to buy this truck, is my wife's boss's truck. It has 23k original miles. She's the only owner. It's a black extra cab four-cylinder manual transmission, in excellent condition, there are no modifications,
How much should I offer her, I cannot find any comparisons in the market. I am in North Florida, I know you would only be speculating but I want to offer her a fair price before she puts it on the market and I lose the opportunity

    Welcome aboard!

I assumed the zip code of dealership, “very good” condition, and two sets of keys on KBB. Their private party value (her selling directly to another individual, like yourself) ranges between $13,959-$16,238. Obviously any repair work that must be done should be taken into consideration. Good luck!

Always a good idea to have a used vehicle looked over by a good mechanic.

If you want to be fair and it’s in very good shape, with that low of miles I would think 13-16k is a good price since I just realized it’s a 2wd

2012 has secondary air problems. Make sure to ask if the truck has had any work on the secondary air pump. Its in the back left side of the engine bay. Then tell them you need to start the truck & wait for the air to blow out. You should be able to hear it after about a minute.

Download Toyota Owners App - input the VIN & look up the Toyota based maintenance for the truck

Pictures of the frame? Low mileage is good, but what if that was their beach weekend truck?

I recently sold my 2010 Prerunner access cab, 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual with 165k miles for $13,500. $16k is probably a good number, if not a bit more, if it's in great shape and no rust.

Specs look like 15" wheels, meaning it's a 5 lug.

I love mine, but some folks will poo poo it. IF the truck will meet your needs, they are great, and ride better than the 6 lugs. Totally different suspension.

Therefore it's worth less in the market because it's less desirable to the broader base of truck owners

CarMax says they'll pay $17k for mine, a 13 with 45k automatic and convenience package (pw, pl, cruise, opening rear window). I have a tonneau, new Michelin Defenders in 235 75 size, hitch, fogs weather tech mats, OE bed mat and cover king neoprene seat covers

Maybe that will help you determine pricing.

You had a pre runner. Pretty sure this is a 5 lug

Yes, that will make a difference. With only 23k miles that 2TR will last forever. Nothing wrong with the 5 lug when they are spruced up a bit.
