Hey guys I just picked up my new Tacoma yesterday and it's everything I've dreamed of! My question is how long is the break In Period ? The dealer wants me to wait 8k before changing the oil this seems like a long time to me. I was considering doing it earlier any thoughts?
    Thanks!!

the oil change intervals on the 2.7L is 5k miles. I wouldn't let them wait until 8k to change it. as far as the break in period, personally i break engines in hard and i did the same for my tacoma and its been fine so far :D

Beauty thanks a lot. My buddy told me to do the same so I let her drink some fuel a couple times a day and as far as an early Change for the first one? Can't do any harm right? Lol

Just drive normal. No need for an early change since the engine is broken in at the factory when they test it but go for it if you like.

    Congrats man!

Drive it like you normally would, IMHO

My dealer did show me and requested I please return as close as possible to 5K,
and she pointed out my handy window reminder sticker that also said 5k,
