    Hello all,

I have lurked the forum for a while but I'm new to the forum. I'm looking at becoming a first time Tacoma owner and have found a 2013 TRD OR, 4.0 V6 with a 6 speed MT with roughly 28k miles.

I have searched for MPG numbers and have found some dated posts but nothing exactly relevant to this year and model.

If I go with a this Tacoma I would truly like to see 20 mpg on the highway consistently. Is this possible with the 6 speed MT? This is the best priced OR 4x4 I've seen and would hate to pass it up but if the MPG are worse than a full size I have some soul searching to do.

Any input, help, or experiences will be GREATLY appreciated.

What should I expect with this set up?

I have a manual , when it was stock I regularly did 21-22 mpg .
    I drive conservatively.

Completely bone stock you should see 20mpg highway. A buddy of mine has that truck and that's what he gets. As soon as you throw on beefy tires, you lose 2-4mpg, then most all armour adds a fair amount of weight. Lifting hurts wind resistance a little bit, too.

If you are looking for gas mileage, look at a Corolla. Tacoma's, well, spend a little more time here. These trucks are not gas mileage champs.

    Not 20 MPGS :anonymous:

My ultra gauge reads around 16.9, but it isn't the most accurate, it also doesn't help that i run larger tires and usually have over 300 lbs in it

Yeah, of which I understand. I really want a tacoma, and need a new truck, but it's difficult to choose mid size when some 2014 full sizes get 23 on the highway.

I'd love to see a tacoma with a diesel...

My wife has a good fuel mileage car but we need a truck as well. We both commute. Trying to find a happy medium.

Lol, that extra 300 and tires surely don't help much.

Do you need the 4x4 and extra ground clearance? If all you need is a vehicle with a box, check out the 5 lugger with the 2.7. Those will turn 25mpg all day.
