Got a mechanical question for you. What could make my 2013 pre runner 6cyl hesitate when accelerating from a stop? Been trying to diagnose my truck. Cleaned the MAF and throttle body. Changed air filter, new spark plugs. Gonna check the fuel pressure off the rail, as soon as I get the kit. Vvt solenoid? Fuel pump/filter?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Pop an ignition coil out and see if the tip is oil covered. That would mean new valve cover and more importantly spark plug tube gaskets. With the truck sitting idling does the tachometer needle jump around a bit or is it steady? Welcome to TW!

When I changed the plugs, I did see some oil on the end of #5cylinder coil. I will recheck today. It doesn’t not jump at idle, it’s steady. And thank you!

Bingo. What spark plugs did you put in?

I replaced all of them. Would a leaking valve cover gasket cause the hesitation on acceleration from a stop?

No, it’s the spark plug tube gaskets specifically would allow engine oil to short out the coil(s)

I assuming, it did get solved but I did a few things. I cleaned my intake, new air filter, changed Al spark plugs and used gas cleaner and used premium fuel. Not sure which one helped the most but my truck is running fine, now.
