I am trying to figure out how to wire my 2013 Regular cab with a backup camera.

I have figured out the wire harness is in place in the tailgate and i purchased an aftermarket camera that fits into the harness plug and is the correct part from what i can tell.

Now I need to figure out how to wire to my OEM head unit... or if thats even possible. Haven't removed the head unit yet, but was waiting to hear some input or guidance before I start pulling things too far apart.

I saw some aftermarket harnesses and was trying to figure out if I need this to wire it. See below link

Again, this is a base model. No power windows, no power rearview mirrors, and a manual transmission.

Thanks in advance for the help!

My 2015 SR was wired right up to the head unit. I just had to installed the camera module. Did the 13 have the rear view camera in the mirror?

No, it’s a very generic truck. No camera rear view mirror or anything. The mirror is just a mirror. No compass or anything electric.

It’s strange the wire harness is in the tailgate. And I traced it out quickly. Looks like it ties into the tail lights and then runs towards the cab. Not sure where it ties into the fuse board in the engine bay though.

If it's anything like mine, it was plug and play. No wiring to the head unit at all. What I found out from my research is if you get the warning on your screen when you start your truck and you have the yellow sticker in your bed on the passenger side you should be plug and play. FWIW I have the non-JBL Entune.
