I’m trying to chase down a chirping sound. It’s around the front end. Think it’s something that rotates because the chirp gets faster the faster I go. I’ve changed the U Joints and carrier bearing so it’s not that. Wheel bearings are fairly new. 2013 4x4

    Hi Tony,
Get a friend to drive the Tacoma slowly while you walk next to it, listening for the sound. Watch the wheels to see if it occurs once every revolution, which might point to a caliper rubbing on a spot on the rim or a warped rotor or something. If it's more frequent than that, it could be driveshaft related. I think you are on the right track about rotational.
Report what you hear/find out and the TW sleuths will probably help you figure it out.

Had the same thing on my 04, was the idler pulley bearing. Could feel it wiggle by hand

Not a manual is it? Tacos love to let their throw out bearing chirp. Never heard any reports of one failing though.

Also check the tensioner pulley bearing. It's another common one on the 2nd gens that likes to be noisy.

I’ll definitely check the idler pulley. LC7 I’ve walked by it as my wife drove slowly. Unfortunately it doesn’t like to make the noise when I want to look at it. Sometimes it’s super loud and doesn’t go away. Other times it doesn’t happen at all. Definitely seems to be faster than one full tire rotation.

    Rolling chirp or RPM chirp?

When were the front brakes last inspected/serviced?

A slightly sticking caliper can cause a pad kiss of the rotor. I've found inner pads almost gone when outer ones were fine too.

Brakes and rotors were changed 10k miles ago. I removed the rotor and brakes from the side it’s coming from and I didn’t see anything unusual. Brakes had plenty of life. It is a possibility though. I could easily glance over something as I am not mechanically inclined.
