I have a battle going with Toyota regarding an "Excessive" (Toyota tech's term) Bump in the passenger side front suspension when dropping off a curb or into potholes, etc. Noise seems to be worse on drop, not as bad on compression. Been in the shop 4 times this year for a total of 12 days with no improvement.

3rd trip answer after holding it for 7 days was "It's your aftermarket bumper. Remove it and replace with factory bumper and then we will look at it". I took the bumper off, mudflaps off, stuffed paper towels anywhere under and inside the dash and fenderwell that could possibly make noise. Still had the bump.

Took it back to dealer (300 mile round trip every time btw) and they agreed the noise was excessive and "tightened and lubed the coil) whatever that means. Still have the bump.

Well I really started inspecting every detail of the coil spring area. When I purchased the truck it had the Tforce package which included 5100s set at .85. Part of the purchase deal was the dealer would set to 1.75. They did, and installed a 1/4" spacer on the drivers side. Here's the confusing part. Truck sat and sits perfectly level. The 5100 on the drivers side is in the 1.75 slot BUT the passenger side is in the .85 slot. The coil on the drivers side is blue/yellow and paint faces forward. The coil on the passengers side is blue/pink and paint faces rearward.

I think they accidentally switched sides with coils and one of them is backwards. They compensated by setting the shocks differently. The truck has always pulled right even when alignment numbers are good and the bump is excessive.

Anyone think I'm on the right track? And could other parts be damaged as a result of running this way for over 2 years?
