Does anybody have experience removing the stock head unit from the 2013 with a non-JBL system?

I have the four 10mm bolts removed, but it feels like I'm gonna snap the glossy plastic piece at the top by the dash.

Is it a slow process of shimming the head unit loose, or is it a give it a hard pull and pray you don't break the plastic facia?

    Thanks,
    Romer

It should be like all the prior years back to 05. Once you have the 4 bolts off from underneath, pull it straight out from the bottom. There are 5 clips holding it in. 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom on either side of the hazzard/clock unit. Might help to reach in underneath to push it out. I wouldn't pull it by the face. It is kinda flimsy.

I'll give it a shot in the morning. I kept messing with it and it felt like it was about to break. I figured I'd give myself, and this post, a little time to see if I can find some magic trick to make it pop loose without busting anything.

I've tried reaching my hand under the head unit (very tight squeeze) and pulling, tried lifting and pulling, pushing down on the top frame and pulling, and it's still won't budge.

It feels like it's bonded to the dash at the very top. I can't even get a putty knife in between the dash and the top of the head unit facia.

I hope I'm not the only one with this issue in a 2013.

    Finally!

For anyone else having an issue with a 2013, I found the trick is to pull out from the bottom and then when the middle of the facia comes out enough, pull from the sides. One side will pop free, then you can move onto the other side.

Now time to search for wiring diagrams to see what I need to tap into.

    Thanks for the insight gents.
