2013 JBL stock unit no text messages

I have a 2013 with the jbl option and I am on my second android phone and I can't get text messages on my screen. I can pair it with blue tooth but can't get texts. Anyone have any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Is my phone to new and radio old technology? Thanks in advance.

 

Goto text messaging and make sure its not on driving mode

I can still text from my phone while driving/stopped at red light ,if that means anything

Driving mode is off. When I'm listening to a podcast via Bluetooth and a text comes in the notification sound does come through the speakers but nothing on the screen of the radio.

 

goto messages+ then conversations on top right. Then settings. Hit driving mode off. Turn on Auto reply

 

Thanks Boco, I changed a few things but this new phone isn't as clear with settings like my old phone . I'll try tomorrow and see if it works.

 

I'm not sure how you made out on this but I have a 2013 JBL system and I have noticed since the implementation of RCS or commonly known as enhanced text messaging...the head unit no longer supports it. The only text messages now that come through are from my daughter who is the only one in my circle with an iPhone. Anyone on an Android using RCS does not show.

So I know what my problem is I just don't know if the fix is a head unit upgrade.

 

Thanks so much for the response, I never did figure it out , my kids do have i phones , ill have to check if there's come thru , but in my 1.5 years of ownership I never had a text come through the radio. I kind of gave up. I would love for it to work. Keep throwing ideas out there guys. Thanks.
