That's pretty damn loud.. I know when my friend was being recruited by UF (he ended up playing for ND and then on to the Bills and Giants), we went during his official visit to see a game at the swamp when they played FSU...that place was so damn loud it hurt.

I'm getting tired of the story... They need some sort of proof of the money. If he took it, sit him. If he (somehow) signed 4,400 pictures/etc. out of the goodness of his heart, then let him play.

I just wish SOMETHING would be decided already.

 

I doubt the money went into JM's account. It probably went straight to his "best friend" and manager to hold for them. Much like scam newton's dad.

 

Doak Campbell gets pretty damn loud as well. Last year when my Noles ran away with the game against Clemson in the second half was arguably the loudest thing I've ever heard. Especially considering our 50 yard line seats are right next to the student section.

 

Is it true that his parents copyrighted the term "Johnny Football" and successfully sued various organizations for using it? If so, then that would mean money was made off of his name...in broad daylight right under the NCAA's and everyone else's noses...

 

Yeah, but that's illegal now, too (thanks to Mr. Newton). I just mean that it can't be denied that he did the signings... There needs to be evidence of money, or this sh** needs to stop, b/c it's getting old.

 

I think they did try to get a copyright on the name. I don't know how that turned out, but I don't think they've licensed it to anybody and haven't made money off of it.

 

From what I have read, they did copyright the term and have also sued to keep others from using. If, and that is IF, that is the case, then money was made off of the name - which is supposed to be illegal, no? I haven't read anything about it being licensed to anyone. But I have noticed - or maybe not really paid attention - that the term johhny football isn't used anymore by the outlets...just sayin...

They must do the cover pages by region? I just got my copy today and it has Bama's TJ Yeldon on the cover. Still has the college preview on it though. Looks to be the same issue with only the teams/players changing.

I think their top 25 is nuts, but it will all even out.
